![]() "Who the fuck are you and what the fuck do you want?" the male spat, his glare unwavering. The door swung open and your eyes met with familiar green ones, except they glared down at you and belonged to someone else. You immediately straightened up your posture and fixed your hair and clothing you didn't want to make a bad impression. There was some yelling you couldn't decipher with some heavy thumping that you assumed to be someone walking towards the door. You doubted they would've cared but your insecurities did get to the best of you. You glanced down at your outfit, which consisted of a slightly over-sized, knit black sweater and a pair of light blue skinny jeans, hoping that it wouldn't make the couple think any less of you. As you waited for someone to answer, the cool breeze of the night began to nip at your neck and you felt grateful that tonight you decided to wear something warmer. Taking a deep breath, you muttered some words of encouragement to yourself before knocking on the wooden door. The little light that hung above the door illuminated the steps you were on made you more anxious as if you were being put on the spot. You stepped up to the door, standing in front of it for few seconds to recollect yourself. That made you more nervous since they probably had nice things in the house, nice things that you have have to make sure didn't break. They seemed very nice and clean so you assumed the family made some good money. You turned back to the house and began to walk towards the door, slipping in between the two cars that were parked in the driveway. "Alright, ," you said, rolling your eyes at their whiny tone, "I'll call you when I need to be picked up." Satisfied with your reply, they waved goodbye and sped off. Babysitting is easy and I doubt anything will go wrong since you're pretty good at handling shit," they said, trying to encourage you but you were pretty sure it was because they didn't want to waste anymore gas waiting for you to go up to the door. You heard your sibling groan, pulling yourself out of your head and turned to face them. ![]() It was probably the fact that the mother had these piercing green eyes that seem to be staring into your soul as she spoke to you, making you feel smaller with every second that passed. The couple gave off a very intimidating aura so you only nodded and gave them your number without saying a word back. What was her name again? Her parents never mentioned it, only telling you what time to arrive and their address. Funny, since only a few days before you were acting smug since babysitting was suppose to be easy money and now you felt anxious about even stepping on the lawn of the little girl's house. You knew deep down you were over-analyzing things, internally overreacting like you always did but you couldn't help it. This was your first job and you didn't want to screw it up, so you had to observe every detail in case something would happen. You knew they were rolling their eyes at you just by the tone of their voice. "God, stop being a fucking weirdo with your observation shit and go in already," your sibling murmured, interrupting your thoughts. The lawn was neat and kept, pretty plain except for the rose bushes that adorned the perimeter of the hous. ![]() The house seemed to be of medium-sized, not too small nor too large. It was painted a dusty rose color with white accents. Turning around, you took in the appearance of the house that was in front of you. You slipped out of the passenger seat of your older sibling's car, closing the door.
